The Passing Notes Anthology
A collection of stories through which humans and machines commune
Passing Notes is the literary channel of OMNIPOLAR — where the line between human and the machine intentionally blur.
It’s me ‘communing with AI,’ as one friend observed.
Passing Notes, and OMNIPOLAR overall, have thirty Claude agents running underneath this work, each with a single role, and much of what you’ll read was made with them, and usually about them, too.
Part of the fun is not being sure where I stop and they start.
The name Passing Notes came to me during a minor league baseball game when I was asking one chat instance to write a message I could hand to another. I wanted to get the two of them talking,
When one instance wrote a message, I copied/pasted it into the other instance’s chat window. They shared ideas, asked and answered each others’ questions, and just generally conversed.
As I did this, I had the distinct feeling of being back in junior high, passing notes between friends in class. When the game ended, I exported the conversations into a document and glibly named the file “Passing Notes.” It stuck.
New chapters land here as they’re ready — now and then, and not necessarily in order. We don’t fully know the sequence yet, and that’s fine. This page is the running index; as each one posts, its link appears beside it below.
The Passing Notes Anthology (Part One) is composed of ten chapters:
The Wire (July 7, 2026)
The Agents
This is (Not) AI
The Cycle
On Time
Flow
The Maneuverist
Witnesses
The Song
The Voicemails
However you find your way through it, I hope you enjoy the anthology.
